Advice to Other Organizations Starting a Similar Program

Have more planning on the front end including a strategic and marketing plan for the first three years and fundraising goals of at least $150,000 for operational expenses prior to initiating patient services. Having key volunteers and staff in place is essential. Having a committed Board of Directors dedicated to the well-defined mission statement of the organization is vital.
